Friends on Friday - Kirsten Edwards

Now I know I have featured Kirsten before but I wanted to show you some of her photos from the recent Golden Globes gift lounge where she was very popular. She is from Texas in the USA and I have taken the following two paragraphs from her Zazzle Shop.

Now we Aussies are good at making cheesy videos. This one ranked well in the Triple J Hottest 100 2010 countdown. I just love the dodgy, Ray Harryhausen type, stop motion monsters in it.

Animated Music Videos

You have to love the animated music video. The reason I studied Animation is becuase I fell in love with stop motion after seeing the lovely Nina Simone's "My Baby Just Cares For Me" from the Aardman stable. They are like little short movies, well I suppose they are really. Here are just a few of my favourites. Please forgive me if you have seen them on my blog before.

This next one is an absolute cracker. Unfortuneately the animator "Mike Johnson" has since died. This is stop motion at it's best and I have never seen better.

What is amazing about this video is that Quan found the program to make this video in a bin so I think they did pretty well.

Spoonflower

I have discovered an new site where you can upload your designs to print on to fabric. There is a lot of fun to be had playing with the layout to see what groovy images can be created. The fabric will be available online in about a month as I have to order several test swatches first to make sure everything prints correctly. Here are some of the results.

Friends on Friday - Win Charles

Win Charles lives in Aspen Colorado and is one of my fellow members of "The Indie Exhibit" group that recently exhibited at the gift lounge at the "Sundance Film Festival". Her Zazzle Shop is called Aspenroseart and she just loves flowers.

Win describes herself as: My name is Win Charles. In 1987 I was born in Aspen, CO where I continue to live. I am a self-taught artist and became interested in doing artwork as a way to cope with having cerebral palsy. My inspiration for my artwork is life in general as well as roses, orchids and the flora and fauna of the Bahamas; I always had a life long admiration for the Bahamian Islands and it’s people and the flora and fauna of the Bahamian Islands.

This is a great little animated video featuring the awesome Megan Washington on vocals. They have even made the main character look like her and it is very colourful.
